What would an economically, ecologically and socially sustainable future of Film Markets look like? Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s initiative, a series of Think Tanks titled “Think Tank: Shaping the Film Markets of Tomorrow”, organized in partnership with the Cannes’ Marché du Film and Berlinale’s European Film Market and in collaboration with the consultancy agency The Catalysts, attempted to answer these very questions.

The Locarno Film Festival, Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, IFFR and Karlovy Vary International Film Festival have joined forces in a new initiative: Launchpad. Launchpad aims at facilitating the integration of selected emerging film professionals working in international sales, marketing, traditional and online distribution, exhibition and programming, funds and commissions by giving them facilitated access to a network of film festivals in the yearly calendar.
Invisible and tangible ghosts, both scary and familiar, real and allegorical, will take center stage in the large-scale tribute "Fantasmas" of the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, curated by the artistic director of the New York Film Festival and internationally acclaimed film critic, Dennis Lim.
