Welcome to the online 22nd TDF
The 22nd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival goes online and presents 210 documentaries from all over the world, original tributes and a series of live open discussions.
From Tuesday May 19 to Thursday May 28, users from Greece will be able, with a simple registration to our website www.filmfestival.gr to watch the documentaries of the 22nd TDF for free. Every documentary will be available for 400 screenings.
The poster was created by designer Sakis Stritsidis and the official trailer of the online 22nd TDF was created by Nikos Pastras.
COMPETITION SECTIONS
The Thessaloniki Documentary Festival presents three international competition sectors: Feature Length International Competition, Newcomers International Competition (with first or second films by filmmakers) and >>Film Forward International Competition.
GREEK DOCUMENTARIES
Greek documentaries are present and they are evolving rapidly. Overall, 77 Greek productions will be screened and Greek documentaries will compete at the international competition sections.
TRIBUTES
We organize a complete and unpredictable tribute to animated documentary, a hybrid sub-genre that is developing constantly.
We explore a topic of geological, environmental, social, philosophical, political and cultural aspects, with the daring tribute to the Anthropocene Epoch.
We familiarize with the world of memes, by watching exciting, sharp, political and humorous documentaries.

The online 22nd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival offers a series of live open discussions on its YouTube channel.
We talk with the renowned war correspondent Robert Fisk, protagonist of the documentary This is Not a Movie and the film’s director Yung Chang, Thursday May 21, 21.00.
We participate in the most timely discussion on the Anthropocene epoch and the effects of human interference with the environment, on Sunday May 24, at 20.00. DOCS FOR KIDS
The screenings Docs for Kids of the 22nd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival for students, will be available for free from May 19 to May 28 for children and teenagers from Greece.
