Docs in Thessaloniki Is Calling for Proposals

If you want to develop your documentary project under guidance from experienced international tutors, pitch to a panel of international financiers and create a network for future co-operations, then Docs in Thessaloniki is the place to be. It takes place on March 21-25, 2007 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Docs in Thessaloniki is an international pitching forum and workshop. It consists of a five-day programme, where 21 selected documentary projects will be developed, re-written and pitched. The first three days are a workshop where you will be working in small groups guided by international experienced tutors. The last two days are a pitching session, where participants pitch their projects to a panel of international financiers from leading broadcasters, followed by individual meetings for in-depth discussions.

To apply for Docs in Thessaloniki you must send, in English, a 2-page description of your documentary project containing the following elements:

- title, length, format
- name of producer, production company, director
- synopsis, visual treatment
- overall budget, financing plan, production plan/time of delivery
- producer and director CV & filmography
- remember address, phone, fax and e-mail of your company

Deadline for submitting your project is February 1, 2007.

We encourage all submissions to be accompanied by visual material in form of a 2-4 minute VHS/DVD-trailer. If you don't have a trailer ready for the submitted proposal, please send an example of your previous work. Visual material should be forwarded to:

The selection of projects will be done by EDN. Feedback will be given in mid-February.

Participation fee

The price for participating in Docs in Thessaloniki is:

- 300 Euro for the first person connected to a project
- 200 Euro for second/third person connected to a project and observers

Besides the whole five-day session this includes all lunches and coffee breaks, dinner on the first evening and a festival pass for the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
