VERNISSAGE OF THE EXHIBITION
«50 WOMEN - 50 JEWELS»
Jewellery Art Workers JAW

For the 50th Anniversary of the Thessaloniki Film Festival the art of cinema meets the art of jewelry in the exhibition 50 Women - 50 Jewels.
The exhibition opened yesterday Saturday November 14th at the Bank of Piraeus Congress Hall.
The exhibition links images to jewels in an original retrospective of the Festival’s fifty years of existence: twenty JAW artists have produced fifty jewels inspired on an equal number of female protagonists who have won Festival awards throughout its history.

To the sound of jazz music by the Spirits Alike band, the guests were able to admire the wonderfully skillful jewelry work which brought back to mind the brilliant acting of fifty women who have shed a special light on the big screen: from Electra to The Matchmaking of Anna, from Eudokia to Eleni from Stone Years, from Antigone to Niki from Brides and from Iphigenia to Marika in Rebetiko.

The president of JAW, Iosif Iosifidis, talked about the long collaboration between JAW and the Thessaloniki Film Festival, adding: “This important endeavor allows the viewers to see films from the point of view of a designer. Aesthetics and quality are the prime qualities of these jewels. Each one represents both the director’s intention and the protagonist’s passion.”

The exhibition will remain open until November 22nd.
