Waiting Alone

Chen Wen finally finds the girl of his dreams, upcoming actress Liu Rong. But just as they start to hit it off, she flies to Shanghai for a month’s work. He occupies the time working on the horror novel he’s writing between stints at the antique store he manages. But when she returns to Beijing,Wen begins to realise that his dream girl is harder to catch than he thought. In the middle of dates, she’ll disappear with other men and doesn’t take kindly to his romantic stunts.Taking a break out of the city with his high school buddies, they formulate a plan: secure her attention by making her jealous. The “other woman” for the experiment is tomboy Li Jing…

Dayyan Eng

Born in Taiwan in 1975 of Chinese and Iranian descent. He studied Filmmaking in North America as well as at the Beijing Film Academy. Eng shot two award-winning shorts before making his feature debut with Waiting Alone. He also edited Wang Quanan’s Lunar Eclipse.
