The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse

Two stern and taciturn men, take on tending a remote lighthouse. Tom, a veteran seaman of dark secrets, is in charge of the light, a duty that defines the chain of command. Ephraim assumes the most demeaning jobs and quickly grows resentful at Tom’s sarcasm and mood swings. Eventually, disorientation, paranoia and drunkenness take the upper hand, as the lonely duo veers between enmity and comradeship. A fiercely monochromatic dance of delusions and palpable fear, in a dazzling horror film, made up by ostensible normality: sometimes, a beam of light that rips darkness is far more blood-curling than blackness itself.
