Sergei Loznitsa

Born in 1964, in 1987 he graduated from the Kiev Polytechnic with a degree in Applied Mathematics. In 1997, he graduated from the Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow with a degree in filmmaking. He has been making documentaries since 1996, for which he has received numerous international and national awards. In 2010, his feature debut My Joy premiered in the main competition at the Cannes IFF and went on to win numerous awards in international festivals worldwide. In the Fog is his second feature film.
