Akadimia Platonos

He was born in Athens in 1966 and has lived in Berlin since 1998. He studied Business Administration at Athens University and film direction at the German Film andTelevision Academy, Berlin. His short film Parlez-moi d’ amour won the Golden Prize at the German Student Film Oscars. His first feature film My Sweet Home was the only German participant at the Berlinale 2001 in Official Competition. Plato’s Academywon the Award for Best Actor, the Ecumenical Award and the Youth award at the Locarno IFF 2009. It was also nominated for the Lux Prize in 2010 (final shortlist). His third film, Unfair World, was in the Official Competition at San Sebastian 2011 and won the Best Director and Best Actor Awards.
