Kornel Mundruczo
He was born in Hungary in 1975. He studied at the Hungarian Film Institute and directed his short film Day After Day shortly after leaving school. It went on to win numerous international awards. Pleasant Days, his first feature film, was awarded the Silver Leopard at Locarno in 2002. His second feature film, Johanna– a filmic opera adaptation of the story of Joan of Arc – was presented in «Un Certain Regard» of the Cannes IFF 2005. Delta was In Competition at Cannes in 2008 and was awarded the FIPRESCI prize. In 2010, Tender Son – the Frankenstein Project was also presented in Cannes Competition.
