Thessaloniki International Film Festival will channel the amount of 16,795 euros collected within the framework of the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, through the establishment of a green fee for all accredited guests (10 euros and 3 euros for students), to a series of measures, actions and initiatives aiming at reducing the Festival’s environmental footprint and tackling the repercussions of the climate crisis.

With 86,000 spectators and visitors, the 64th Thessaloniki Film Festival has come to a close, reaching pre-pandemic levels of attendance, specifically those of 2019 and the 60th Thessaloniki Film Festival. From November 2nd to 12th, the 64th Festival hosted premieres, fascinating discussions and masterclasses, in addition to welcoming prominent figures of cinema and intellectuals, including Monica Bellucci, Alexander Payne, Jeremy Podeswa, Mark Mazower, Nikos Perakis and Volker Schlöndorff. It also had the pleasure of having the much-loved Harris Alexiou as an ambassador of the Agora.

The 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival called it a wrap on Sunday, November 12th, at Olympion, with the screening of the film Fallen Leaves by Aki Kaurismäki, awarded with the Jury Prize at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and Finland’s official submission on this year’s Academy Award for Best International Film.
