The breathtaking documentary Navalny by Daniel Roher, recipient of the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature, will be screened at the 26th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival. Navalny revolves around a past murder attempt against Navalny, who died under mysterious circumstances on February 16th 2024, while held at a maximum-security prison in Russia.

Film director Gregoris Rentis, winner of the >>Film Forward Silver Alexander at last year’s Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, was assigned with directing the 26th TiDF’s spots. 

The 26th TiDF's Agora (March 8-16, 2024) announces the AGORA Lab and Meet the Future participants.

Fernando Trueba's new film, They Shot the Piano Player, will signal the kick-off of the 26th TiDF. The renowned director will attend the opening ceremony and will be bestowed with the Golden Alexander. The 26th TiDF will also host a Spotlight on the work of the Spanish filmmaker. 

The 26th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival announces the full lineup of its three competition sections, featuring an impressive number of 34 world, international and European premieres! 

AGORA (March 8-16), the industry section of the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, has selected for the Thessaloniki Pitching Forum 12 projects from 11 countries and for the AGORA Docs in Progress 11 films from 16 countries, all deriving from Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean region.

Astonishing documentaries by some of cinema’s greatest filmmakers, such as Steve McQueen, and Frederick Wiseman, as well as illuminating stories featuring notable figures from the art, music, and fashion fields, for example Patricia Field, Édouard Louis, Dario Argento, Anita Pallenberg are coming to the 26th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival (March 7-17, 2024).
